But what is a 'live edge' you might say? - This is the design element where the natural edge of the wood is preserved (where the bark usually grows). Rather than being cut straight and refined, this technique involves maintaining the original contours and grain patterns, showcasing the natural unrefined beauty of the timber edge. And in the case of the Botany this is the feature that you can see around the front edges of the timber.

Made from the iconic Australian Messmate timber and beautifully finished in a clear satin varnish which allows the stunning natural character of the Messmate to pop with beautiful flecks, veins and grains, made from a combination of solid and veneer timber. The simplicity of the design and 32mm timber profile really allow the natural grains to shine, bringing warmth to your space.
